Giving

It seems at every turn these days people are asking for a handout. Whether it's the guy holding the sign on the side of the road, the person that calls you inconveniently at dinner about some charity, or the minister at church saying God wants you to give tithes of what you make. All of these scenarios can lead to you giving begrudgingly and feeling forced or guilt-ridden. Here at Believer.com, we believe in Spirit-led cheerful giving. God does not force His children to do anything. He is looking for a relationship that is giving on both sides.

2 Corinthians 9:6  But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
2 Corinthians 9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:8  And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

 Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of worship. A believer labors not to accrue personal wealth or possessions. 

Matthew 6:19  Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth consume, and where thieves break through and steal:
Matthew 6:20  but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Matthew 6:21  for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.

Everything that God has put before us or given us in this life should be directly or indirectly used for His purpose. There are many people and organizations out there that need help financially. We pray God will lead us to give to each case as is needed. Our passion here at Believer.com is The Word of God. We want people to know it, to embrace it, to understand they can have a direct relationship with God that doesn't have to come through someone else. There is a purpose, plan, hope, and deeper Truths contained in His Word that we want the world to know. And God says the same;

1Timothy 2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of The Truth.
